Parkruns are 5km events which take place every Saturday morning at 9am across the country. All races are free to enter and are run entirely by volunteers (simply register online and receive your unique barcode which you can take to any event). The aim of Parkrun is simply to encourage people to run and keep healthy. It is the taking part which is the most important part, rather than the time you take.

Recently, Junior Parkruns have been created, running a shorter 2k route. These take place on a Sunday morning, aimed at children aged 4-14. For anyone interested, the nearest Junior Parkrun is at the Boston Road Rec in Sleaford. Full details can be found on their website here. Other local Junior Parkruns take place in Grantham & Newark.

For information about Parkruns you can find them on the Parkrun website. The nearest 5km Parkruns are Belton House (Grantham)LincolnNewark & Boston.

Please note that you will need a printed barcode to register your result after the race. It is official Parkrun policy not to accept an image on a phone as proof, as the screen is reflective and they are unable to scan it.
